This romantic film explores the story of a girl named Lucy who has decided to return to Nelson Bay, Wisconsin, to attend her sister Alice's funeral and learn about her property. Lucy meets Peter (Whitfield), her old high school sweetheart and Alice's lawyer who informs her of Alice's will. Lucy explores the terms of her sister, Alice, in order to inherit the family home, where she has to live for 30 days and Lucy's life may change completely.
